In September some of the world’s leading scientists gathered in Dublin to attend the Schrödinger at 75 conference. The two-day event, held in the National Concert Hall, marked the 75th anniversary of Austrian Nobel Prize winner Erwin Schrödinger’s series of lectures titled “What is Life?” which were delivered at Trinity College Dublin in 1943.

Talks were delivered on the most topical issues in modern biology, including the basis of the mind, consciousness, ageing, gene editing and the origins of life, with five Nobel Prize winners taking to the stage to commemorate Schrödinger, whose seminal lectures are recognised as motivating new avenues of exploring molecular biology leading to major breakthroughs.
